Over the summer of 2021 I was able to spend my time working for Harry & David. Here I was able to design flyers, asile markers, asile tags, as well as bounce back lettercard mailers. I helped art directors on photoshoots, helping set up and tear down, while also helping with lens changes, and making recommendations to the main photographer. I was also tasked with working with copywriters, project managers, and other designers daily.
Illustraions
At The Torch I have worn many hats, as a photographer, illustrator, and graphic designer as I have been whatever that is needed of me. My process includes, looking at examples of what the proposed outcome is asked for, then I do some thumbnail sketching, before I do a more flushed out drawing. From here I bring the drawing into a vectorizing program to begin work on the computer. When coming to my photography I usually take a few test shots to get my white balance proper, I usually do research upon what is needed via camera settings for the type of even I am shooting and adjusting settings and lenses as needed on my camera from there. Afterwards I process in Adobe Raw, or Lightroom depending on the workflow needed for the outcome.
Photography
Sights of Southern Oregon was a project I wanted to do after the fires that desacrated southern Oregon. I really wanted to bring out the beauty and that Oregon is still beautiful and still moving forward as we should when faced with tough times.
I streched this series from the imfamous Crater Lake to the city that burned away (Pheniox, Oregon), to the hills that surround my home town of Grants Pass, wrapped up by the best sunset I have had the experience of capturing in Brookings, Oregon.
Multimedia Work
When I get the amazing freedom of escaping the computer I get to paint or breakout other mediums. From Acrylics, to water colors, down to spray paint. I try to not limit myself when I get an itch to create something and am willing to try anthing once.
“Colorprint” Is my fingerprint that I blew up from snapping a red pen in half and stamping my thumprint into and creating a color wheel spanning over 144 colors and a 10 point value scale that fully encompasses shades and tones.
“Percy Jackson & the Olympians” Book covers have spanned many different mediums from spray paint, digital, to water color. I really enjoyed doing these, as I pulled elements from the books and really tried to showcase elements that encompassed the entire book as the campers did on their beads at the end of every summer.
